Monday and Tuesday are available by appointment or for private parties. Our booking system allows reservations two or more hours in advance. Can I try VR before committing to a full session?
Yes. Contact us and we will set up a quick demo by appointment. Most people who try it immediately want to book a full session.
Do I need any VR experience to play?
No VR or video game experience required. The majority of our guests are trying free-roam VR for the first time, and we've had players from age 7 to 85 learn to move and play with no problem. Your game host will walk you through everything before you start, including how to put on the headset, use the controllers, and move around the arena. Within minutes, most people forget they are even wearing a headset. No gaming experience or tech skills required.
What is the minimum age for VR?
Recommended for ages 10 and up. We can accommodate kids as young as 7 as long as the headset fits comfortably. You are welcome to make an appointment to come by and try it out. If most of the kids in a party are under 10, we may require adults to closely supervise and participate in the games. We have had situations where younger children do not follow instructions and behave unsafely, and we want everyone to have a great time without anyone getting hurt. We offer games appropriate for all ages.
Can I wear glasses in the VR headset?
Yes. Our headsets are designed to fit comfortably over most standard eyeglasses. If you have especially large frames, contact lenses may be more comfortable, but most glasses wearers have no trouble at all. Your game host will help you adjust the headset for the best fit.
What should I wear to a VR session?
Wear comfortable clothing you can move around in freely. Closed-toe shoes are required. The headsets accommodate most eyeglasses, but baseball caps will need to be removed while playing. If you have a bun or updo, you may need to take it down for a proper fit — we have hair ties available if you need one. Avoid loose jewelry, scarves, or anything that could get caught on the headset strap. VR is an active experience and you will be walking, reaching, and sometimes ducking, so dress like you are going to be on your feet for a while.
How is free-roam VR different from home VR?
Completely different experience. Our free-roam VR arena lets you physically walk around a 400+ square foot space. You and your friends share the same virtual environment and see each other as characters inside the game. There is no joystick movement and no standing in one spot. It is significantly more immersive, more social, and more active than anything you can do at home.
Is VR safe if I am pregnant or have a health condition?
If you are pregnant, we strongly recommend not participating. In VR, there is a real risk of losing your balance or instinctively reaching for virtual objects that are not there, which can lead to a fall. We also advise caution for anyone with epilepsy, heart conditions, or severe motion sensitivity. If you have concerns about a specific condition, please contact us before booking and we will help you figure out what works.
Can someone with limited mobility or a wheelchair play VR?
We want everyone to be able to enjoy VR. Our free-roam arena does require players to walk around a shared space, so it may not be suitable for all mobility levels. However, we may be able to arrange a seated VR station that can accommodate some guests with mobility limitations in individual VR experiences (though they may not be able to participate in the same games as players in the arena). If you or someone in your group has specific needs, please reach out to us in advance and we will do everything we can to make it work.
How do you keep the VR equipment clean?
After every session, we wipe down and sanitize each headset, face cushion, and controller. We take hygiene seriously.
Where is Epic Adventures VR located?
5305 NE 121st Ave Suite 806, Vancouver, WA 98682. We are open Wednesday through Sunday (Wed-Thu noon to 8pm, Fri noon to 11pm, Sat 10am to 11pm, Sun 10am to 8pm). Monday and Tuesday are available by appointment or for private parties. Reservations are required for all sessions. If you have a reservation, we will be ready for your arrival up to 15 minutes early (30 minutes early for party and group events).
VR Arena
How many people can play VR at the same time?
Up to 6 players in the arena at a time for most games. If your group is larger than 6, players rotate in and out between games. Most games are 10 to 15 minutes long, so there are plenty of opportunities to get everyone into the arena. For those waiting to play, we offer a retro game console (Nintendo 64) with a selection of games for up to 4 players, plus a small selection of board and party games you can check out. You are also welcome to bring your own. The full venue holds up to 25 guests between the VR arena and party space.
Is my session private or will other groups be there?
Every session at Epic Adventures is completely private. You will never share the arena or the venue with strangers. It is just your group, your game host, and whatever games you want to play.
What VR games are available?
Over 40 games across every genre: escape rooms, co-op adventures, shooters, cooking games, puzzle games, rhythm games, horror, party games, and more. Check our Game Library for the full list. Your game host will help curate the perfect mix and help you switch between games freely during your session.
Can we switch games whenever we want?
Yes. Tell your game host what you want to play next and they will load it up. You can switch as often as you like. Most groups play 3 to 5 games per hour. The exact number depends on how quickly you choose games, how fast players swap in and out, and the length of the games you pick. Your game host will help make transitions as efficient as possible so you get the maximum play time during your session.
Will VR make me motion sick?
Free-roam VR dramatically reduces motion sickness compared to home VR because your body physically moves when your character does. We also use fans to keep air circulating, which provides a real-world reference point that helps your body tolerate the virtual environment. If you are prone to motion sickness, staying hydrated helps. You can take breaks anytime, and your game host can switch you into a different game type if needed.
Can spectators watch what players see in VR?
Yes. We have live spectator screens that show what each player is seeing and doing inside the game in real time as well as an overall game spectator view on another screen. It is a big part of the fun for guests who are waiting for their turn or just want to watch. Many groups say the spectating is almost as entertaining as playing.
Can I take photos and videos during my visit?
Absolutely. You are welcome to take photos and videos throughout your visit, including of players in the arena and the spectator screen. We love when guests share their experience on social media. We also capture photos and video during your session that you can access through our online gallery after your visit.
Is there a liability waiver?
Yes, all participants sign a liability waiver. It covers standard safety expectations and equipment use. Common sense applies: follow the instructions your host gives you and everything will be fine. If you damage equipment through negligence, you are responsible for repair or replacement costs.
Can I use my own VR account or bring my own games?
No. Our headsets are configured specifically for our arena and game library. We do not allow logging into personal accounts in order to provide the best experience for all guests.
Parties & Events
What amenities does the party space include?
The party space includes spectator seating, a retro Nintendo 64 gaming area with 4 controllers and bean bag chairs, a dining table with 6 chairs, an extra table for food and gifts, a kitchenette with fridge and microwave, cubbies for personal belongings, and a small selection of tabletop board games for check out. The entire venue also has dance club style sound and lighting.
Can we bring our own food and drinks?
We do not sell food or beverages at this time, but you are absolutely welcome to bring whatever you want. Many groups order pizza delivery or bring catered food. We have a fridge, freezer, and microwave available for your use.
How many guests can attend a party or event?
The venue holds up to 25 guests total. Six play VR at a time, with seating for up to 19 others across the spectator couch facing the arena, the retro gaming area, a guest couch and chairs, and dining tables.
Do we have to play VR the whole time?
Not at all. It is your event, your schedule. Play VR, take a food break, open gifts, play Nintendo 64, play board games, throw a dance party. Your host is there to help with whatever you want to do.
Can we extend our session if we are having fun?
As long as no one else is booked after you, absolutely. Just ask your host. Extensions are billed in 30-minute increments to the card on file.
Do you offer corporate team building events?
Yes. VR is outstanding for team building because it requires communication, collaboration, and problem-solving in a way that is genuinely fun rather than forced. Our escape room and co-op adventure games are especially popular with corporate groups. We can host up to 25 people, customize the game lineup for your goals, and provide a private venue with food-friendly amenities. Email us to discuss your event.
Do you host school field trips or educational groups?
We do. VR is a natural fit for STEM education, and our escape room games in particular involve critical thinking, teamwork, and creative problem-solving. We can work with teachers to select age-appropriate content and structure the visit around your group size and schedule. Contact us to plan a visit.
Mobile VR Arena
How much space do you need for a mobile VR setup?
20 feet by 20 feet of indoor space with a level, unobstructed floor. We bring boundary barriers to define the arena. We also need nearby table space for equipment and an electrical outlet. Internet connectivity is preferred but not required.
How many people can play at a mobile VR event?
For a single arena setup, up to 6 players per game, same as our venue. Most games last 10 to 15 minutes so guests rotate through quickly. For large crowds, we can bring a second arena to double capacity.
How long does mobile VR setup and teardown take?
We arrive 2 hours before your event to set up, though it usually takes less. Teardown is faster, typically under an hour.
What games can you bring to a mobile event?
Our full game library of 40+ games. We typically curate a specific playlist for your event and audience. Escape adventures and co-op games work especially well for corporate team building.
Booking & Payment
How do I book a VR session?
Book online through our booking system. Choose your date, time, and session length. Payment is taken at checkout. For mobile events or custom quotes, email us at info@epicadventuresvr.com.
What is the minimum booking time?
One hour minimum. Sessions are booked in 30-minute and 60-minute increments after that. Most groups book 1.5 to 3 hours.
What happens if I am late to my booking?
We recommend arriving 10 to 15 minutes early so you have time to check in and sign waivers before your session starts. If you are running late, please call us. We will do our best to accommodate you, but your session end time will not change. Arriving significantly late may reduce your play time.
What is your cancellation and refund policy?
Full refund if cancelled 14 or more days before your session. Within 14 days, we cannot offer a refund, but you can reschedule to any available date at no charge. No-shows are not eligible for refund.
How far in advance should I book?
Our booking system shows availability up to 4 months out. Book as early as you can, especially for weekends and party slots. For same-day or next-day bookings, contact us directly to check availability.
Do you offer gift cards?
Yes! Gift vouchers are available at our gift voucher page and make a great gift for birthdays, holidays, or anyone who loves trying new experiences. Vouchers can be applied to any session type.
Do you offer military, veteran, or first responder discounts?
As a veteran-owned business, we appreciate your service. We offer a 10% discount for active duty military and veterans. Just mention it when you book or check in. This discount cannot be combined with other promotions — if you qualify for more than one discount, we will apply whichever saves you more.
Do you offer any other discounts or promotions?
When we run specials or promotions, we post them on our website and social media. Sign up for our email list to get notified first.
